The federal government’s earlier Regional First Home Buyer Guarantee launch has helped more Aussies sooner, it has said.

The Minister for Housing has said there is a “major need” for housing investment, with institutional investors “largely absent”.

New housing legislation has been introduced to Parliament to deliver the "single biggest investment" in affordable and social housing in a decade.
