Available to all First Federal brokers, the new portal can provide live application tracking from submission through to settlement, along with milestone notifications and access to BDMs and credit support teams.
First Federal also said that the platform is mobile-friendly and aimed to help brokers stay across their pipeline and manage applications more efficiently.
The launch also comes as First Federal comes online with NextGen’s ApplyOnline lodgement platform and introduces a digital valuation tool through Cotality’s Property Hub.
First Federal CEO James Angus said the lender’s focus was on making it easier for brokers to do business with First Federal.
“We’re not trying to be the biggest lender. We’re focused on being one of the easiest lenders for brokers to deal with,” Angus said.
“Brokers want quick answers, clear communication and visibility throughout the process.
“The Broker Portal gives brokers a better view of where applications are up to, while making it easier to access the people, information and tools they need.
“Alongside ApplyOnline and Property Hub, these improvements are about removing unnecessary steps and making it simpler for brokers to do business with First Federal.”
Broader technology push
First Federal’s technology investment comes as lenders, aggregators, and brokerages continue to roll out new digital tools.
Most recently, People First Bank has launched a new digital banking platform as it continues integrating the technology systems inherited from the merger of Heritage Bank and People’s Choice while also working towards a new loan origination platform with Simpology and plans to roll out Loanapp.
Yellow Brick Road has also launched Nectaria, a multi-agent artificial intelligence (AI) platform designed to support brokers throughout the lending process, including client call transcription, policy searches, compliance, and follow-up tasks.
Meanwhile, fintech lender Bridgit recently launched a real-time scenario calculator within its broker portal, allowing brokers to run lending scenarios, check policy and pricing, and progress deals to application.
Brokerage Finspo has also introduced an AI-powered identity verification tool that extracts information from identification documents and pre-populates application fields, with further automation planned for bank statements, assets, and liabilities.
In banking, many majors and second-tier lenders have stepped up their technology investment, although some research has questioned how prepared their data systems are for further development.
