The transition, which began on 28 September, will see the non-bank lender phase out other application methods over the coming weeks, retiring manual and paper-based processes.
The move will digitise the lending workflow from application through to approval, giving brokers a consistent way to submit applications and reducing the need for assessment teams to work across multiple systems.
The platform also integrates automated credit checks and property title searches into the assessment process, drawing on Equifax data covering enquiries, defaults, public records and applicant details.
From 28 September, brokers can also access digital verification of identity through NextGenID and manage requests for missing information directly within ApplyOnline, reducing reliance on email.
VMG has used ApplyOnline for third-party lodgements since 2022 alongside manually managed and paper-based applications. Requests for missing information on those applications were sent to brokers by email, adding delays to the assessment process.
Glen McKay, executive general manager – distribution and mortgage operations at VMG, said moving to a single platform would simplify the process for brokers and the lender.
“Moving exclusively to ApplyOnline is about giving our broker partners a faster, simpler way to work with us. We’ve spent a lot of time managing applications manually, so bringing everything onto one platform, from lodgement through to approval, removes a lot of the friction our brokers and our team have felt in the past.
“As we continue to grow, having a consistent, digital process in place means we can scale without losing the flexibility and common-sense approach VMG is known for.”
Marcus Walley, strategic partnerships manager at NextGen, said the transition reflected the company’s approach to helping lenders adopt digital workflows.
“VMG has been a valued partner of NextGen since 2022, and this next step is a great example of how a lender can move to a fully digital workflow without a lengthy, disruptive platform build.
“It’s a starting point VMG can build on over time, adding automation and capability as their needs grow, without ever having to start again. We’re proud to support VMG as they continue to grow their broker business.”
