ANZ appoints former McDonalds CEO

ANZ has announced the appointment of Catriona Noble as its new managing director of retail distribution in Australia.

Ms Noble will join ANZ from McDonalds, where she was chief restaurant officer for Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Africa, as well as CEO of McDonalds Australia between 2010 and 2014.

Ms Noble will be responsible for ANZ’s retail channel distribution strategy and the bank’s 800 branches and mobile sales team.

ANZ said she will also play a key leadership role in attracting new retail customers, growing the bank’s relationship with existing customers and championing strategies to improve customer satisfaction.

Mark Whelan, chief executive of ANZ Australia, said the recruitment of Ms Noble is not a “business as usual” appointment.

“Catriona’s energy, her people skills and retail experience will bring a strong focus to improving the way we serve our customers across our retail network,” Mr Whelan said.

“I’m confident her experience leading large teams in Australia and in Asia will support the continued outperformance of our retail businesses.”

Ms Noble starts in her new role on 1 September and will be based in Sydney.
