Suncorp appoints new treasurer

Suncorp Bank has announced the appointment of a former Citigroup executive as its new treasurer.

Scott McMullen, former head of financial institutions at Citigroup Corporate and Investment Banking, has been named as the treasurer of the regional bank. Mr McMullen has also held positions with CBA, Merill Lynch, and UBS.

Suncorp Bank CFO David Carter said Mr McMullen brings with him extensive investment banking and capital market experience, a thorough understanding of balance sheet optimisation and risk management, and exceptional stakeholder management skills.

“Having someone of Scott’s calibre lead our treasury team puts us in a very strong position, particularly in the complex macro-economic and regulatory landscape we operate in, marked by constant change and a heightened focus on structured capital management and risk management,” he said.
