Steve Weston is Barclays chief executive officer, mortgages. He was previously Barclays managing director of retail lending. From 2008 to 2012 Steve was general manager of broker platforms at NAB, and prior to that held general manager positions at Challenger and St George Bank.

More mortgages for fewer brokers in the UK

British brokers currently represent about 60 per cent of new mortgage lending in the UK, with some commentators expecting this level to increase to 65 per cent in 2014.
