Industry veteran joins AMP

AMP Bank has named industry veteran Laurie Duffus as its new state manager for third-party distribution across Victoria, South Australia and the Northern Territory.

Mr Duffus brings over 25 years’ financial services experience to the position, with previous roles in sales and management at Westpac, Suncorp/Metway, Macquarie Bank, FAST, Aussie Home Loans and nMB (National Mortgage Brokers).

AMP Bank’s head of sales, Glenn Gibson, said Mr Duffus is a valuable addition to the team who is committed to the mortgage broker market.

“AMP Bank is pleased to have Laurie, with his expertise and knowledge of the industry, join our team,” he said.

“Providing a high level of service and support to brokers and their clients is one of the most important things we do.

“Laurie has a track record of building mutually successful business relationships with lenders and brokers, and he will be an integral part of building our success in 2015."

The recruitment of Mr Duffus comes after the group's investment division, AMP Capital, appointed Adam Tindall as the chief investment officer of its property investment business.
