Veda to offer face-to-face ID verification

The leading credit analysis company has enhanced its identity verification services with a new acquisition.

Veda’s take-over of ZipID – which provides face-to-face and mobile-enabled identity verification services – extends the company’s offering to sectors that have regulatory obligations, including lenders, brokers, lawyers and conveyancers.

According to Veda, the new capability allows it to achieve the highest level of assurance under the National Identity Proofing Guidelines issued by the federal government.

“Verification of identity is increasingly integral in today’s economy. The addition of ZipID’s face-to-face service complements Veda’s electronic verification and provides convenient alternatives for our business clients during their customer on-boarding process,” Veda CEO Nerida Caesar said.

“Ultimately this helps them provide a better customer experience.”

Sean Simmons, co-founder and general manager of ZipID, said the service takes the friction and delay out of face-to-face verification.

“It solves a real market problem, as previously, face-to-face verification has been cumbersome and slow for many businesses and consumers,” he said.

“The combined capability of ZipID and Veda provides customers with a complete identity verification service.”
