AMP reveals board changes

Financial services company AMP has announced several changes to its board of directors.

Geoff Roberts will join the group’s board as a non-executive director, effective July 1, 2016.

Mr Roberts is currently group chief financial officer of job search platform SEEK, and has more than 30 years’ experience in financial services in Australia, Asia and Europe.

He worked previously as the managing partner of Deloitte Victoria and as group chief financial officer at AXA Asia Pacific.

Meanwhile, Brian Clark and John Palmer have announced their intention to retire from AMP’s board at the conclusion of the group’s annual general meeting on May 12.

AMP expressed its appreciation of Mr Clark’s significant contribution to the group since joining in 2008, and as chairman of the AMP Capital Holdings board since 2009.

It also paid tribute to Mr Palmer’s contribution since joining AMP in 2009, having been chairman of the People and Remuneration Committee, a director of AMP Life and a director of AMP Capital Holdings.
