A five-star Green Star rating reflects “Australian excellence” and recognises CBA’s standard design of its branch fitouts as one of the most environmentally sustainable in the country.
The design was assessed across nine impact categories and incorporates several sustainable elements including low chemical paints, timber certified by the Australian Forestry Standard, reduced water consumption and energy savings of around 40 per cent.
CBA’s head of group property, Jennifer Saiz, said the rating reflects the bank’s efforts to make a positive impact through the way it does business.
“Commonwealth Bank is committed to creating healthier workplaces for our people and being a productive member of the communities in which we operate,” Ms Saiz said.
“Our work with the GBCA will help us to improve the efficiency and productivity of our branches, while also enhancing the experience for our customers.”
This latest Green Star rating is the latest in CBA’s sustainability achievements. Commonwealth Bank Place in Sydney’s Darling Quarter recently achieved Australia’s first ‘quadrella’ of six-star Green Star ratings for design, construction, interior fitout and operational performance.
