AMP names new director

Andrew Harmos has been appointed to the AMP board as a non-executive director.

Mr Harmos is the founding director and shareholder of Harmos Horton Lusk Limited, a New Zealand corporate legal advisory firm and has been a non-executive director of AMP Life Limited since August 2013, a position he will continue to hold. He will join the AMP Limited Board on 1 June.

AMP Limited chairman Catherine Brenner applauded the appointment, stating on behalf of the board: “We are delighted that Andrew is joining the AMP Limited Board. He has a strong understanding of our business and the financial services industry, significant expertise in governance issues and deep experience as a non-executive director in Australia and New Zealand. We welcome the skills and knowledge that he will bring to the board.”

In a statement released to mark the appointment, Mr Harmos was hailed by AMP as a director with “significant experience in a wide range of corporate transactions, with expertise in providing a strategic board, governance and transaction advice across the Asia-Pacific region.”

In addition to his positions at AMP, Mr Harmos is currently director at Elevation Capital Management Limited and at Pascaro Investments Limited (a New Zealand farm investment company), as well as non-executive director of Scentre Group.

Previously, Mr Harmos was chairman of NZX Limited for seven years and served 13 years on its board as a director.
