Australia’s leading mortgage broker, Aussie, has launched a major expansion plan to recruit brokers and other professionals to expand their broker and franchise network during and following the COVID-19 crisis.

General Manager of Distribution at Aussie, Brad Cramb says Aussie is looking to recruit 200 brokers and 80 more franchisees to their retail network in city and regional areas, for even stronger presence under an already established and thriving business model: “Franchisees are especially welcome in both city and regional centres as our store network is a key to our future.”

Applicants do not have to come directly from mortgage broking and Aussie will be providing support and commissions to each new successful recruit during their first six months with Aussie.

“We see there are great opportunities for franchisees from both finance and non-finance backgrounds, who may have recently been made redundant or stood down, to choose a new professional path with a thriving business,” says Mr Cramb.

New recruits will have access to industry leading training, support, and mentoring to provide the kick start they need to become thriving and long-term brokers with Aussie. After successful completion of the training program, they will be qualified for a Certificate IV in Mortgage Broking and could be on their way to a full Diploma in Mortgage Broking over a 12-month period.

In addition, Aussie is offering:

  • opportunities to suit a range of budgets
  • reduced franchise fees*
  • a competitive commission structure (with a special offer for the first 12 months)
  • Aussie store fit out contribution to help new stores set up and open faster*
  • funding options available to help setup the new Aussie store
  • $6,000 to help new brokers kick start their business**

Mr Cramb adds, “Aussie is proud of its track record in providing people the opportunity to gain new skills and qualifications, especially at a time when many companies and brokers are simply trying to ride out the crisis. We’re delighted to be providing people the opportunity to gain new skills and qualifications, particularly during this time.”

For Chris Powell, Franchisee of Aussie Erina, his journey began in July 2018 when he became an Aussie mobile broker and after 12 months, he decided to run his own store. Late last year, that dream became a reality as he officially opened the Erina store earlier this year and, “loved every minute of this journey so far.”

For Chris, the benefit of becoming an Aussie franchisee is about,“the flexibility of running your own race. You can work as much or as little as you want depending on your individual needs or wants. In other words, it can be a great lifestyle business or you can ramp it up (as I wanted to do from the start) to a full scale business operation. That’s the beauty of the Aussie business model.”

Reflecting on the key highlights of his journey to date, Chris says there are a handful of moments that stand out including, “Getting my first lead, writing my first loan and settling my first loan all gave me massive confidence to push forward and know that I had made the right decision to join Aussie. Operating an Aussie store is by far the best decision I have made in my business life.”

Aussie is a household Australian brand with strong partnerships and is a long term investment according to Chris who encourages other self-driven individuals to join the Aussie network: “The best advice I can give someone considering to become an Aussie franchisee is to be consciously energetic, enthusiastic and motivated every day. Patience and being consistent in everything you do is key. Keep learning…seek out mentors and keep asking questions. That’s what I did from day one.”

Ultimately, Chris says the hard work is worthwhile: “For me, the best part is helping my customers achieve their goals. Getting their loan approved to help them find their first, next, or investment home is very rewarding. The effort you put in pays off, everytime I see a customer progress towards an important milestone. There can be no better result than that.”

It’s a great time to join Aussie and be part of an industry with a range of opportunities.
