The ASX-listed mortgage insurer has announced the resignation of a non-executive director and the outgoing member’s replacement.

Genworth Mortgage Insurance Australia Ltd has announced that Jerome Upton has resigned as a non-executive director, effective as of 8 September 2020.

Mr Upton has served on the group’s board since February 2012 and was a member of Genworth’s audit committee, risk committee, capital and investment committee, and technology committee.

The former non-executive director has been replaced by Rajinder Singh, who assumed the role on 9 September.

Mr Singh has filled Mr Upton’s position as a designee for group subsidiary Genworth Financial.

The new appointee has over 20 years of experience in risk management and global financial services, and has served as chief risk officer of global mortgage insurance at Genworth Financial since 2014.

Mr Singh also serves on the boards of India Mortgage Guarantee Corporation Private Ltd and of Genworth Seguros de Credito a la Vivienda, S.A. de C.V. in Mexico.

The new non-executive director holds a master of business administration in finance from the University of Rochester’s Simon Business School, a master of science in mechanical and aerospace engineering from Rutgers University, and a bachelor of technology in mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.
