Mr Tuttle said he was honoured to receive the award and for Pepper to be recognised among its peers in the financial services industry.
“In reality, this award equally belongs to [co-group CEO] Mike Culhane,” he said.
“In our case, the power of two has definitely been a large part of Pepper’s success.”
Mr Tuttle has been instrumental in building the business through a series of landmark deals, such as Pepper’s $4.9 billion acquisition of GE Capital’s Australian and
New Zealand home lending business in 2011, and the acquisition of real estate advisory company Grant Samuel Property in 2012.
The win caps off a stellar year for Pepper after the firm took home five of the 12 gongs on offer at The Adviser’s Non-Bank Lending Awards in March, as well as being nominated for Best Non-Bank Lender BDM at The Adviser’s 2015 Better Business Awards.
