Lieutenant General David Morrison AO will join Deloitte for 25 days in the next 12 months, providing a unique and independent viewpoint when it comes to developing inspiring and quality leaders, the group said in a statement.
Lieutenant General Morrison will be part of Deloitte’s Diversity and Inclusion Council, chaired by Margaret Dreyer, and will work with partner Juliet Bourke, who leads the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion (Consulting) practice and co-leads the leadership practice.
Ms Hook said Lieutenant General Morrison will also work with Deloitte chief operating officer David Hill as a member of the Leadership Development Team to help create and maintain an environment where everyone is able and encouraged to reach their full potential.
“I want to foster a leadership culture in which people understand what it means to behave inclusively and the importance of that in the context of future business challenges,” she said.
“I can’t think of a better role model than Lieutenant General David Morrison. It was under his determined leadership in early 2012 that the Australian army began the historical transformation of its culture.
“His insights on leadership behaviours and workplace culture are compelling. A world-renowned thinker on organisational leadership and cultural reform, he is a true inspiration,” she added.
Lieutenant General Morrison said he was looking forward to working with Deloitte.
“Cindy Hook is an inspiring and energetic CEO with a genuine commitment to creating an inclusive leadership culture,” he said.
“She and her leadership team are forward-thinking, innovative and change-agile.”
