Centrepoint announces changes to executive team

Mortgage and wealth group Centrepoint Alliance has appointed a new director and chairperson to its board after undertaking a renewal process over the past 18 months.

Alan Fisher is now chairperson and a non-executive director of the group’s board, while Rick Nelson and Matthew Kidman have stepped down. Centrepoint said in an ASX update that it will look to appoint another board director “in due course”.

Mr Fisher is currently the chairperson of biodiesel producer Australian Renewable Fuels, a non-executive director of pharmaceutical company IDT Australia and managing director of business consulting firms DMC Corporate and Fisher Corporate Advisory.

Commenting on the group’s appointment, Mr Nelson said Mr Fisher has significant business experience, a strong track record in leadership, and is a great addition to the Centrepoint team.

“Whilst at times challenging, I have enjoyed my time as chairperson and building the business to where it is well positioned today, and now look forward to Alan taking Centrepoint into its next phase of growth,” he said.

Centerepoint Alliance managing director John de Zwart said Mr Nelson has been a great leader to the group’s board, management team and staff, and has been at the core of Centrepoint’s rejuvenation and turnaround over the last few years.

“Matthew’s contribution has been just as significant in effecting the substantial transformation which has occurred across the group,” he said.

“They have placed Centrepoint in a strong position for the next stage of our journey.”

Centrepoint Alliance includes a mortgage aggregator, Centrepoint Lending Solutions, and also offers accountancy, financial advice, funds management and insurance premium funding.
