CUA appoints non-executive director

Mutual lender CUA has announced the appointment of Louise McCann as an independent non-executive director on the board.

Ms McCann has more than 25 years’ experience in media and commercial market research and brand and communications sectors in Australia, New Zealand and across Asia. Her career has included CEO, chairman and director positions, with her director roles spanning the technology, media, health, education, accounting and professional services sectors.

Ms McCann is currently on the boards of the ASX-listed Macquarie Media Network, Grant Thornton Australia Limited, University of Notre Dame, the Australian Physiotherapy Association and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. She is also a former director of internet service provider, iiNet Limited.

CUA chairman Alan Beanland said Ms McCann would be a valuable addition to the board.

“The expertise that Louise brings from a career in media, brand and communications, as well as her management credentials and experience as a director, will be an asset to the board,” Mr Beanland said.

Among her credentials, Ms McCann is a fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Australian Institute of Management.

Her appointment takes the number of directors on the CUA board to seven.
