Allianz makes changes to broker division

The insurance giant has reshuffled its senior leadership team and has announced a new appointment.

Michelle Hay has been appointed as Allianz’s new general manager of consumer, SME and platform solutions, while Alison Brough has changed roles to become the national manager of strategy and key partnerships.

Ms Hay has almost 20 years of broking, distribution and underwriting experience from a number of domestic and international firms in the insurance industry.

The new general manager will assume the position after leaving her role as chief operating officer and company director at Konekt. She will be responsible for leading Allianz’s personal lines and SME portfolios, while also building the insurance provider’s broker platform.

Formerly at Vero, Ms Brough will be in charge of further developing Allianz’s broker business and will be tasked with developing and fostering key partnerships in Australia and New Zealand.

The pair will report directly to chief general manager of broker and agency David Hosking, who welcomed both to the company’s broker division.

Mr Hosking said: “Broker and Agency continues to play a critical role in driving growth for the wider Allianz Group.

“Both Michelle and Alison are fantastic additions to the Broker and Agency Leadership Team and will be key in driving our customer focus and growth agenda.

“On behalf of Allianz, I congratulate Alison on her appointment and welcome Michelle to the team.”
