Ms O’Reilly also has held executive roles in the infrastructure and financial services industries, having been chief executive of GasNet Australia and co-head of unlisted infrastructure investments at Colonial First State Global Asset Management (since rebranded to First Sentier).

ANZ chair Paul O’Sullivan commented: “Christine is one of Australia’s most experienced company directors, and I know she will make a valued contribution to ANZ and our shareholders.”

“Christine has had broad exposure to the financial services industry as well as extensive experience in domestic and offshore companies.”

Following her appointment, Ms O’Reilly will stand for election as a director at ANZ’s annual general meeting in December.
