AMP hires retirement solutions head

Ben Hillier has taken the job with AMP Australia, where he will report to director of platforms, Edwina Maloney.

He has been tasked with leading the development of retirement products across the banking and wealth business.

Previously, he had designed and launched QSuper’s lifetime pension product, after spending six years at Sunsuper as its senior manager of super and retirement products.

Mr Hillier has a reported 25 years’ product development experience, having worked across retirement, super, self-managed superannuation funds (SMSFs), banking, digital and the energy sector.

“With our ageing population and sustained historic low interest rates, the need for quality financial solutions to help Australians manage their income in retirement has never been greater,” Ms Maloney said.

“Ben has an outstanding track record in developing market leading retirement solutions for customers and advisers and this will be his focus at AMP.”

Mr Hillier added that he was excited to commence in the role.
