Aussie brokers the big winners as Lendi Group celebrates 1st birthday

It’s been one year since the merger of Aussie and Lendi to form Lendi Group, and the benefits have already flowed in the brokers’ direction, as they harness the combined strength of the Aussie network and the innovative technologies, processes and direct lender integrations pioneered by the Lendi platform.

With a goal of creating ‘the network of the future’, Lendi Group is committed to facilitating great broker experiences that translate to a seamless experience for customers. As the group prepares to enter a new era of growth, three core principles – productivity, scalability and profitability – are shaping their broker-first strategy.

Delivering a broker-first approach

Major challenges brokers face include the time invested in understanding customers’ objectives, while liaising with lenders, generating new enquiries and managing the demands of a thriving business. Aussie is addressing these time challenges head-on, with solutions that add capacity back into brokers’ businesses, create scale, and help brokers increase revenue while reducing costs.

Two new operating models have been introduced in the Aussie mobile channel – ‘Associates’ and ‘Client Solutions’ – which allow brokers to focus on high value tasks and revolutionise the way they interact with customers to provide lending expertise and solutions.

Company generated enquiries are now fielded by an in-house ‘Associates Team’. This dedicated team of specialists make first contact with customers to qualify them, before directing them to an appointment with a broker, or into a nurture pipeline for specialised contact depending on their individual situation. This bespoke contact results in real-time tech-driven triggers that direct the customer back into a broker’s calendar when they are ready to transact.

Brokers are also benefiting from the support of the in-house ‘Client Solutions Team’, who assist with loan packaging. By centralising key operational tasks, brokers are enabled to deliver a high level of service in-line with changing customer expectations.

Changes embraced by Aussie brokers

Associates and Client Solutions were already key components of the operating model for Lendi brokers, and to ensure suitability of these models for the Aussie mobile channel, extensive pilot tests were conducted over several months. The results of these pilots were impressive, and included fast-tracked times to lodgement, fewer RMIs, and turbo-charged timeframes to unconditional approval.

This new, fully supported model is giving time back to brokers to spend directly interacting with customers rather than compiling details or processing paperwork. Senior Aussie Broker Mel Smith said of the pilot tests, ‘it’s refreshing to see Aussie trying new things to keep the momentum going. We have a new focus on efficiency and looking at process differently. These new options are better for processing, qualifying and nurturing leads, ultimately adding capacity back into my business and letting me be where I want to be – spending more time with customers’.

Technology: the key driving factor

The key enabler for these new enhancements at Aussie is the industry leading, proprietary technology of the Lendi Platform, with Lendi Group CEO of Distribution Brad Cramb noting, ‘having the right tech and support functions in place has been critical to develop measures that are practical, scalable and effective in relieving the time challenges brokers face’.

A core value at Lendi Group is ‘making home loans human’, with Cramb adding ‘we never lose sight of the fact that mortgage broking is a people-centric industry. These enhancements are about helping brokers develop stronger engagement and relationships with their customers, and delivering better, faster outcomes for them’.

There’s never been a better time to join Aussie

The Associates and Client Solutions models have now been launched in the Aussie mobile channel, with existing mobile brokers being invited to opt-in. All new brokers joining Aussie in the mobile channel will be automatically enrolled into the fully supported model, which coupled with an enhanced onboarding program will mean faster speed to earning.

Aussie has also redefined the strategy for its retail network. The focus for new territory acquisition will be firmly on top tier territories. This will be coupled with investing substantial effort into enhancing the experiences for existing franchises through investments in the right technology, empowering them to be the CEOs of their own business and maximising ROI through support models designed to scale. There’s also a strong focus on growing the businesses of existing retail brokers and increasing the number of brokers per-store.
