The Mortgage Business Awards program provides a platform to reward the leading players in the third-party channel for their hard work and dedication.

With the third-party channel having broken 70 per cent market share recently for the first time in history (according to data released by the Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia), it is essential to acknowledge the channel’s dedication to serving their clients’ best interests.

The awards showcase the talents of the best and brightest across the industry, including mortgage brokers, aggregators, lenders, innovators, technology providers, and other staff servicing the third-party channel.

They consider excellence in operations, technology, and innovation, while highlighting and rewarding those who have delivered exceptional and consistent customer service and outcomes.

There are 23 categories on offer, including four individual awards, seven group awards, six innovation awards, and six technology awards.

Award entrants will be asked to provide a video submission for the award categories they wish to be considered for.

All entrants will be asked to submit a video answering four questions:

  • What steps have you taken to ensure operational excellence?
  • Provide an example of innovation in your business over the last 12 months and how this has helped your business grow.
  • How do you ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction?
  • What is the best example you can provide to demonstrate business growth in 2022?

Finalist submissions are delivered to the panel of judges, who assess each submission against the criteria of each award category.

For individual finalists, the video will make up 100 per cent of the weightings.

For lender and technology finalists, the video will make up 30 per cent of the weighting.

The remainder will be determined by their positioning in industry research and rankings, metrics from past broker award programs run by Mortgage Business’ parent company Momentum Media as well as the largest brokerage/aggregator and mortgage broker associations, the results of the Third-Party Lending Report, Broker Pulse surveys, Momentum Intelligence’s Aggregator of Choice Survey, and the Mortgage Technology survey.

The combined judging scores for each submission across each category are tabulated, with the highest-scoring submission deemed the winner.

Mortgage Business will announce the finalists in December.

The winners will be announced at the Mortgage Business Awards gala cocktail dinner on Thursday, 9 February 2023.
