The inaugural Mortgage Business Awards, which celebrates the third-party mortgage distribution sector, will take place on 27 April in Melbourne.

The upcoming Mortgage Business Awards, run with the support of principal partner Resimac, will now take place on Thursday, 27 April 2023 at the Sofitel Melbourne.

The evening awards ceremony will celebrate the leading lights of the third-party residential mortgage industry — from individual brokers to lenders and technology providers.

Finalists for the five hotly contested individual categories have already been announced and submissions for the group awards are still open.

The group awards include Aggregator of the Year, Brokerage of the Year, Settlement Platform of the Year as well as lender awards, such as:

  • Major Bank of the Year
  • Non-Major Bank of the Year
  • Mutual Bank of the Year

Entrants are asked to provide a three-minute video submission for the award categories they wish to be considered for, answering the following four questions:

  • What steps have you taken to ensure operational excellence?
  • Provide an example of innovation in your business over the last 12 months and how this has helped your business grow.
  • How do you ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction?
  • What is the best example you can provide to demonstrate business growth in 2022?

While the video submissions make up 100 per cent of the individual award categories, for the lender, aggregator, and technology finalists, the video will make up 30 per cent of their final score.

The remainder will be determined by the company’s positioning in industry research and rankings, metrics from past broker award programs run by Mortgage Business’ parent company Momentum Media as well as the largest brokerage/aggregator and mortgage broker associations, the results of the Third-Party Lending Report, Broker Pulse surveys, Momentum Intelligence’s Aggregator of Choice Survey, and the Mortgage Technology survey.

The combined judging scores for each submission across each category will then be tabulated, with the highest-scoring submission deemed the winner.

Finalists for the group awards will be announced in mid-February and all the winners will be unveiled at the gala cocktail dinner on 27 April 2023 in Melbourne.
