The fintech lender has welcomed two new appointments amid growing demand for bridging and construction lending in NSW.

Short-term mortgage lender Funding.com.au has bolstered its NSW business development manager (BDM) team with two new hires.

Lauren Severino and Sam Hermon have joined the non-banks to help meet the state’s growing demand for bridging and construction lending.

Ms Severino – who started in her new role in October – has more than 25 years of experience in the industry and was most recently a BDM at Bluestone, a position she held for six years.

Before that, she had been a regional business leader at Aussie and had also worked in lending, having been a branch manager for Westpac, and a senior BDM for Resimac.

Mr Hermon joined the non-bank in November, after having been a BDM at personal lender Wisr for around three years. He also has retail experience, having been a duty manager at Coles for nearly nine years, and undertook an internship at NAB in unsecured lending before that.

Funding.com.au highlighted that the two new hires had more than three decades of combined industry experience between them and would help foster business growth within the state.

The lender said that BDM team expansion “reinforces Funding’s commitment to growth and excellence, elevating [its] capacity to deliver tailored financial solutions and exceptional service to brokers across Australia”.

Chris Maamoun, national sales & partnership lead at the non-bank lender, said he was “thrilled" to welcome the two new hires to the BDM team in NSW.

He stated: “This move is a direct response to the substantial growth we’ve witnessed in the region this year.

“With a focus on expanding our broker base and expanding our presence in NSW, both Lauren and Sam bring a wealth of experience to the table. Their expertise will play a pivotal role in delivering our top-notch services across the expanding network of brokers in the state.

“We remain committed to providing unparalleled support and tailored solutions to our brokers and their clients and this expansion marks a significant step in that direction.”

The appointments marked the latest additions to the Funding team after it hired Mr Maamoun as national sales & partnership lead and Steven Brown as chief technology officer (CTO) last year.
