Westpac appoints new director

Westpac has announced the appointment of Craig Dunn as its independent non-executive director.

Mr Dunn brings more than 20 years’ experience in financial services to the role. He was previously the chief executive of AMP between 2008 and 2013, and was also the chief executive of a Malaysia-based insurance company – a joint venture of Colonial Limited – specialising in strategy, mergers and acquisitions.

Prior to this, Mr Dunn worked with KPMG in both Europe and Indonesia, and was recently named chairman of Sydney’s new fintech hub, Stone & Chalk.

Westpac chairman Lindsay Maxsted said Mr Dunn’s extensive experience will be a significant asset to the bank’s board.

“Wealth management is a key growth area for Westpac, and having Craig on the board will support this strategy and complement the board’s current skills and experience,” he said.

Mr Dunn will begin his new role on 1 June.
