Accounting firm to finance SMEs

A sizeable player in the accounting sector has opened up a new finance arm targeting small businesses, as it aims to better service its existing client base.

Bentleys Queensland has launched the new division dubbed Bentleys Finance in response to strong demand for finance and lending.

“As banks increasingly tighten their lending criteria, many quality businesses are struggling to find the finance they need to grow. At the same time new innovations in lending, such as crowdfunding, are changing the landscape and making it harder for business owners to understand the full range of options out there,” Bentleys Queensland managing partner, Ben Cameron, said.

“We established Bentleys Finance to address this gap in the market and help our customers find the best financing solution for their particular circumstances. We are already seeing a lot of interest from both existing Bentleys clients and new clients.”

Hamish McIntosh will front the new practice as director of Bentleys Finance and will be responsible for its growth.

Mr Cameron said Mr McIntosh has extensive experience in finance, having held senior roles at National Australia Bank, Bank of Queensland and Scottish Pacific.

“We’re pleased to welcome Hamish to the Bentleys team and look forward to seeing him use his substantial skills, experience and contacts for the benefit of Bentleys clients,” Mr Cameron said.
